At LiveLOADS, located right here in Ottawa, we’re driven by more than just efficient logistics; we’re committed to strengthening our community. That’s why we were exceptionally proud to partner with the incredible local organization, ABLE2, by playing a very special role in their recent, highly successful “An Evening in the Maritimes” fundraising gala: we delivered the lobsters!
This remarkable event, as celebrated in prominent local media like the Ottawa Citizen and Caroline in the Capital, achieved an outstanding milestone, raising $300,000! These crucial funds are dedicated to Able2’s vital mission of empowering individuals with disabilities, enabling them to build lives filled with meaning, purposeful inclusion, and joy.
Our Role in a Celebrated Community Effort
LiveLOADS was honored to ensure a highlight of “An Evening in the Maritimes” arrived perfectly. When the call came to transport the culinary centrepieces for such an important feast, we were thrilled to step in. Our team meticulously handled the delivery of the fresh lobsters, ensuring these stars of the maritime-themed menu arrived safely and on time for the event. For a gala of this nature, the quality and timely arrival of such a key element are paramount, and we were delighted to apply our logistics expertise to this crucial task.
Our commitment, of course, had another lobster-themed dimension! Showcasing our team’s enthusiastic and long-standing support for ABLE2, our very own CEO, Brennan Davis, continued a beloved tradition by once again dressing up as Larry the Lobster – a role he’s proudly embodied in support of ABLE2 for over four years now! It seems only fitting that the company delivering the lobsters would also bring the lobster. This spirited participation, coupled with our specialized delivery, highlights our deep connection to this cause.
It was rewarding to see the broad community support and the success of the event highlighted in the media. Knowing that our contributions – from ensuring the main course was a success to adding a dash of fun – helped facilitate such a positive and well-recognized outcome for ABLE2 is a source of great pride for the LiveLOADS team.
