For 19 years, our founder Brennan Davis watched his father Bruce's phone ring forty times a day. Bruce was an operations manager at a mid-market trucking company, firefighting a broken system with a flip phone and a corkboard. Brennan grew up in the passenger seat of delivery trucks and went on to manage international bonded warehouses for Canada's embassies — and saw the same scene everywhere: freight belongs to someone who already has a job. The spend looks managed. It isn't.

The market hasn't helped. Brokers sit between shippers and their carriers, taking a margin on every load and keeping the benchmarks to themselves. Legacy TMS vendors answer with replacement projects measured in quarters. Neither gives the person signing the cheques a number they can defend.

We started LiveLOADS because we've stood on both sides of that gap — running freight operations and watching finance try to verify them. The fix turned out to be neither a broker nor another TMS: a layer on top of the systems you already run, with rate benchmarks per lane, carrier scorecards, and an audit trail that belongs to the shipper.
